Besides sails, there have been a few dolphin around. The dolphin fishing has been slower than normal, but a couple of days of east winds should get them all pushed back on the edge. Kingfishing has been slow and the fish have been on the small side.
After over a month, I finally got to go swordfishing again and we caught one out two swords. The sword we caught was 58” lower jaw to fork length and was approximately 85 pounds. Not a great huge swordfish, but after a month or so, it was great to catch one and to be out on an absolutely gorgeous night. The sword trips are really backed up and we have many trips booked, so hopefully the weather will allow us to take advantage. I also went tarpon fishing one night and after a slow start we caught a huge fish of over 120 pounds. It was quite the fight on 20 pound tackle.
The bad news for the people who haven’t booked there trips is that I only have three open dates left in February. I do have dates in March available and the fishing in March and April can be red hot, so give me a call and let’s go catch them.
Tight Lines,
Capt. Dean Panos
